ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Antique c1890 EBONY PIANO STOOL Glass Ball Claw Feet
This is a wonderful Victorian era piano stool.  It's made of ebony with 4 beautifully carved legs that  come off a center balustrade.  The bottom of the legs are covered with cast iron and have glass ball & claw feet - a classic feature of piano stools of this era.  It has a seat which swivels and adjusts it from a height of 18" to a height of 23".  This wonderful piano stool was made by A Merriam Company of South Acton, Massachusetts.  It's very hard to find a black piano stool ... it's a great find to go with an ebony or dark finished mahogany piano.

Dimensions It measures 18" in diameter (this is 6" larger than the standard stool width) x 18" high which raises to 23" 
Condition Good estate condition. Rich patina on its original finish.  No damage.  Minor character marks are commensurate with age and use.  All our items are used or antique and, as such, have the normal amount of wear and tear that's commensurate with their age.

Please note that we ship small things immediately but larger pieces of furniture often require ordering custom boxes or crates and numerous packing materials which does add to the time frame of a shipment.  We think you'll agree that the safety of the item is more important than time.

SHIPPING DETAILS Back to Top
Once you pay for your item it will be packed for shipping. The method of shipping depends on the size of your purchase. Most things are crated or boxed by our PROFESSIONAL SHIPPER. You will receive an email from us or from iship.com with a tracking number. Small items are sent via USPS Priority Mail and should arrive in a few days. We have just started using Greyhound to save you money. Please note that if we do use Greyhound it can save you up to 50% of the cost of UPS, FedEx or our blanket wrap trucker. However, you have to pick up your items at the Greyhound depot. Most times the money saved makes this worth it. Alternatives are: medium size pieces (small pieces of furniture, etc.) going by UPS; these items are generally custom boxed and typically arrive within a few days to a week. Large pieces of furniture are custom crated and shipped by our trucker, Arrow Express. Once the trucker picks up your item from us, it normally takes two to three weeks to arrive. However, many things can impact the time of a truck shipment so it can take as long as eight weeks, depending on your location. 

About Shipping Costs: We are working very hard to keep shipping costs down and because both USPS and UPS have raised their rates and the trucker is charging a surcharge, we have recently started using Greyhound to help reduce the shipping prices you pay. This does necessitate your picking up the item on your end at the Greyhound station - we hope the money saved compensates for the time involved in doing this. WE ALWAYS COMBINE SHIPPING TO DISCOUNT MULTIPLE PURCHASES BUT THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE BOXED TOGETHER. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND.  

About LOCAL (NY tri-state area) shipments:  We always welcome pick ups and never charge for this service. Also, we have a local delivery service that can deliver up to five items for the same price, anywhere within the NY tri-state area.  If you are local, please ask for a price quote for this very affordable service.
