Antique scallop cut neck crystal decanter

This lovely decanter is in very good condition.

The piece has a scallop cut neck and matching cuts to the base and stopper. The stopper has an air bubble inside. The base has a polished pontil. The neck of the decanter is faintly engraved 12 as is the stopper. This shows they are a matching pair. The stopper fits well with a slight twist to seal.

There are no chips or cracks to either piece. There is no etching from alcohol nor is there any clouding of the glass from dishwasher use. There are a few small scratch marks to the outside, the longest being 5mm long. These are not noticed in general viewing and need to be searched for

This is a high quality piece.

The decanter is 300mm tall. It weighs just over 1 kilo.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
