Art Deco Danish cut crystal cheese dome c1925

This beautiful piece is in very good condition.

The cheese dome is Danish in origin and was most likely made by the Kastrup Glassworks. The crystal glistens as it catches the light.

It has a well detailed and has a cut pattern to both top and base.  So often one piece is broken so it is quite rare to find a matching pair. Both are sparkling clear crystal and ring when lightly tapped. The knob to the top is solid crystal making the piece quite heavy. The base or plate has a scalloped edging and a central star cut pattern. The edge to the plate and the base edge to the dome or bell are cut and polished.

There is one very small chip to one of the scallops to the base as circled. There are fine scuff marks to the underside base from use and a few faint utensil marks to the top surface.

The top or bell is 155mm across the base and 150mm tall. The under plate or base is 215mm across. It weighs 1.33kilos.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
