Art Deco ornate Danish silver plate lily handle dinner forks ABSA |
This lovely set is in very good condition.
The dinner forks are marked to the back with the Danish twin tower silver plate assay mark used until 1928. The maker's marks ABSA for Absalon silver.
The forks have a stylised lily design to the handles.
There is no silver loss to these pieces; even the tines have no wear through of the plating. There are very fine usage scratches. There is no corrosion and there are no dents or irregularities. The silver plating is original and the forks have not been replated. I have been selling Danish silver plated pieces for many years now and find the plating far superior to other plated cutlery. It is quite amazing that these pieces are over 80 years old.
The forks are 213mm long. The set weighs 375gms.
All my silver has been gently cleaned with non abrasive silver foam. As such there are still fine usage scratches visible. These could be polished by a professional if so desired.
For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
Please note this item is original and not a copy or modern day reproduction.
