Art Deco Danish solid silver butter bowl or sauce bowl 1934

This piece is in very good condition.

A similar but newer piece is described as a butter bowl at the Danish website below.

Danish butter bowl

The base of the bowl is marked with the Danish three tower silver assay mark dated 1934 and the assay master's mark for Jens Sigsgaard.

The piece has a small pouring lip and a Bakelite handle secured with a silver pin to one side. The rim is rolled.

I imagine the piece was used for serving melted butter or thin sauces.

There are fine scratches from use mostly to the inside bottom base. There is one small indent to the inside bottom base, so minor it does not go to the outside. The handle wobbles a little in its housing.

The bowl is 100mm across to the edge of the pouring lip and measures 45mm high. The piece weighs 97.9gms.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
