Art Deco Inspired Decorative Screen - Studio Piece

Exquisite hand made five panel decorative screen created in the Art Deco style.

The design is intentional however it is not offered an original or reproduction Art Deco piece, more inspired by the Art deco lines. This is studio piece to highlight my workmanship and originality of design.

This piece should suite a number of tastes from lovers of the Art Deco styling to contempory. As with all hand made timber pieces the originality brought by using natural timber and its timeless transition make it a solid purchase at any time.

The main frame is made from African Zebrano wood and is inlaid with African Ebony, Australian Mulga, and Australian Gidgee timber species.

To compliment the timber embellishments in solid brass and copper have been inlaid around the perimeter.

The base is a combination of African Zebrano wood and Australia Red River Gum. The base has hand cut and forged brass and copper leaf designs that have chemically treated to patena.

The panels are timber with a high quality Belgian wall covering supplied by Omexco overlaid.

The screen can be viewed from either side with subtle differences in the timber species and of course the uniqueness of the natural timber grains. (Room divider or break out piece).

The piece has been finished with several coats of carnauba wax.

The screen has SOSS hinges on two panels allowing a limited amount of movement (approx. 90 degrees in one direction) for corner placement against a wall or to add interest.

FREIGHT:

The screen dimensions are 1830mm (max height) x 1160mm (max width) x 280mm (max depth).

Weight without packaging or crate = Approx. 30kg

(I estimate to make allowance for 60-80kg for a fully packed and crated item. Remember freight is also calculated on overall dimensions which uncrated is Approx. 0.6 cubic meters.)

I am prepared to work with the final purchaser on freight for the item within Australia. For interstate purchasers it would be best to road freight this item in a custom crate.

I am offering to the final purchaser to build a custom crate from 3mm MDF for the protective facing around the screen and surrounded by rough sawn pine as the main protective frame (crate). The item will be completely bubble wrapped within the crate. The purchaser should allow 7-10 days for this process and allow an additional charge of $200.00 for this service.

If the buyer is local to Brisbane then collection would be a good option with a suitable vehicle/ or courier service and I would consider delivery to the purchaser by arrangement in a local radius of Brisbane.

Overseas freight is not offered at this stage, however if you are an experienced importer of timber goods (understand your customs requirements for your country etc.) or for your region contact me discuss the option.
