c1932 Art Deco platter

A large ironstone oval platter designed by Susie Cooper at her very own studio ~ Crown Works England. The platter is in sound structural condition with no cracks or obvious signs of damage. It does however bear crazing to both sides but not to the upper rim where the pale olive green transfer pattern lies.

Minor wear to the base rim & the plate will need a soak in vinegar as there is light discolouration within the crazing to areas front and back. And there is a glaze miss on the rim. Very sound when rapped with the knuckles, a sturdy piece.  In a light shade of cream with a wide olive green border peppered with tiny white oval rings scattered in diagonal rows. The inner grass leaves are in subtle shades of grey, green and blue. A gorgeous piece despite the craze and discolouration. A lovel
