Art deco heavy cut crystal biscuit barrel

This piece is in good condition.

The crystal biscuit barrel has a top marked EPNS and a swing handle. The crystal base is heavy and well cut with an ornate design.

There are no chips or cracks to the crystal. The underside of the base has many fine scratches from use.

There are a few dark pin head size spots to the silver plate and a slight colour variation in some lights. I think the silver plate lid and rim have been replated in chrome at some time. The colour variation is due to the nickel base grinning through. This is shown in the photos. There is a dent to the rim which is also shown.

In spite of the things mentioned above the piece presents well.

The biscuit barrel is 170mm tall to the top of the knob. It measures 120mm across the base.

The biscuit barrel weighs 1.25kilos.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
