Art Deco rich gilded beaded picture frame Denmark 1919

This picture frame was made in Denmark and still has the original framer's sticker to the back.

The frame is wooden and has a rich gilded finish. The frame has a beaded inner border framing the photo. The original glass is flat and clear. The back has two eyelets from which to attach a hanging wire.

The gilded finish has rubbed in places, showing the pale base coat underneath. I have shown this in the close ups. I know this can be easily restored by rubbing with gilding wax if desired. Otherwise it adds to the patina of the piece and identifies it as original. There are no chips or cracks to the frame and the beading is all intact. There are no restorations to the piece.

The frame is 30mm x 370mm. The inner photo section is 210mm x 280mm. The frame is around 30mm deep.

The original photo is still inside the frame and signed and dated 1919.

The piece weighs 755gms.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
