Artemis or Diana the Huntress of Greek or Roman mythology.  Holding her spear and has a sword at her side, standing in the clouds with a large stag.  The statue is made of cold cast resin a  very time intensive technique and finished in gold, with excellent detail.  Artemis or Diana has gold oak leaves on her shoulder.  The gold is also on her long cape, sword, stag's antlers, around the sprear and both braclets on her arms, plus in her hair.  Standing 25.25cm high, 18cm wide across the base, the base is lined with white felt.  13.5cm deep across the base.  This lovely statue comes in her own foam lined box.  NEW

Hunting goddess

Diana was the hunting goddess, associated with wild animals and woodlands. She also later became a moon goddess, supplanting Luna, and was an emblem of chastity. Oak groves were especially sacred to her. She was praised in poetry for her strength, athletic grace, distinct beauty and hunting skill. In practice she made up a trinity with two other Roman deities: Egeria the water nymph, her servant and assistant midwife; and Virbius, the woodland god. In her etymology, "Diana" is simply :"the Goddess".
