Outstanding memento of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, this Stamp and Coin Cover released by Australia Post includes an Australian $1 aluminium bronze commemorative coin.

Perth Mint $1 Commemorative Coin

Struck by The Perth Mint, the coin’s reverse depicts the Australian Olympic Committee’s official ‘Flag and Rings’ logo with an image of the Boxing Kangaroo and a traditional Chinese dragon.  The design also includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

Australian Legal Tender

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse.

Souvenir Envelope and Stamp

The coin is housed in a souvenir envelope with a commemorative 50 cent stamp depicting the ‘Flag and Rings’ logo and a Chinese dragon in colour.

Special Postmark

The stamp is cancelled with a Loch Sport Vic 3851 special postmark dated 24 June 2008.
