LG KS360 is a
vibrantly coloured, feature-packed mobile phone specifically designed for
messaging on the move. It’s smaller than an iPhone, although quite heavy and
chunky, with a thickness of 17mm. But that’s because the phone has a full
slide-out QWERTY keypad that help users to send SMS, IM, email and have the
ability to access social networking sites. It integrated MySpace web link for
staying in touch online. The link is located in the main menu and sends you
straight to the MySpace log-in screen. For people who prefer Facebook or Yahoo
Messenger, web links are available for both using the Boost Live menu.
In addition, the LG KS360 cell phone comes with touchscreen dialling,
a 2MP camera with a self-portrait
mirror, though no auto-focus or a flash and MicroSD
card slot. The 2.4″ screen automatically rotates 90 degrees using accelerometer
technology. You can dial directly from the touchscreen without needing to open
up the slide. In fact the slide is really only used when texting or sending
emails, so most of the time you can use it with the slide closed, just like a
normal phone.
Besides the touchscreen,
there’s a full range of “normal” buttons. Two raised pressure pads give you
Call and End features, while two more provide a Cancel function and link to a dial
pad. These are smaller again than the buttons, but their icons make them easy
to find and hit accurately. The dial pad is interesting. Once called up, the
screen suddenly becomes touch sensitive complete with hap tic feedback. It
works really well, but the screen is only touch sensitive for this one
application.
In fact, this is such a great phone for texting and calling, and so cheap, that
users couldn’t expect it to have any other features. But it does. The phone has
a built-in music player that supports MP3 and AAC formats and an FM radio too. You can add a
microSD memory card up to 4 GB. This is
enough to store around 1,000 MP3 tracks. Connectivity is via Bluetooth and the battery
life is very good. LG estimates that the battery life is five hours of
talk-time and nearly an enormous 18 days of standby time.

talk time - if you were on phone to some one 3 hours
straight, it would go flat. Standby time is 72 - 96
