The Nokia 2330 Classic is another member of the ever growing Classic editions available from Nokia. This sleek, simple handset offers everything we have come to expect from Nokia, stylish and usability. Presented to us in two colour choices, the Nokia 2330 classic will be available in black with the silver keypad trim, as pictured, or Deep Red. Weighing in at a polite 90 grams and with dimensions of 13.8mm x 46mm x 107mm, this handset fits neatly into most pockets. Offering a 1.8” TFT display with 65k colours and 160 x 128 pixels, the integrated VGA digital camera can be used with ease to create images and videos. These can be stored easily in the 32 Mbytes of memory. For those who like to listen to their favourite FM radio station whenever they can, the dedicated FM Radio key allows easy listening supported by the internal antenna. Once fully charged a talk time of 4.8 hrs and standby time of 540 hrs can be expected. Also offering all the usual suspects of SMS and MMS, Bluetooth® technology and a built in web browser, the user will be able to use the Nokia Xpress audio messaging service to share audio messages with compatible contacts. The Hands Free and Conference call features, audio recording and a good selection of ring tone formats also help to round off this elegant edition to the Nokia Classics range.

Nokia 2330 Classic Review – Music Entertainment

As mentioned above, this handset includes an internal antenna which offers, via the dedicated FM Radio key, instant access to your favourite FM radio station once you have tuned it in. A handy radio recording feature puts the musical control firmly at your fingertips. Supplied with polyphonic and MP3 sound and video style formats, there is a reasonable choice of pre-recorded ring-tones for the user to choose from. However if you feel the need to expand on what is available, it is simple to use the Bluetooth® or USB port with cable to download or transfer those sounds or pictures you would prefer.

Nokia 2330 Classic – Camera & Imaging

The camera function on the Nokia 2330 classic is not over complicated allowing the user to take quality photographs without being over run with cutting edge technology. Included features are the automatic white balance, centre weighted auto exposure, capture modes comprising of still, sequence, self-timer and video. Scene mode settings come in night mode and portrait mode. The imaging features in this handset and the full-screen view finder, allow the user to achieve the perfect finish when using the VGA digital camera.

The video recording facility incorporates a 4x digital zoom, automatic scene modes and normal colour tone modes. Videos can be recorded and played back using the 3GP format. Playback is also available using the H263 format. Video streaming is available with 3GP. The built in HTML Nokia Browser, supported by HTTP/WAP, allows access to the web. An e-mail service which supports IMAP4, POP3 and SMTP also includes document attachment support. When put together with the EDGE technology providing high speed data transfer, the Nokia 2330 classic is well equipped to keep you up to date whilst on the move. This handset also includes Bluetooth® technology which comes in version 2.0 and support for local and remote SyncML synchronisation.

Nokia 2330 Classic – Call Features

An integrated hands-free feature allows the user to speak to contacts whilst not actually holding the handset to their ear. This is a great application when twinned with the conference call facility, which can include up to 3 participants. Any key answer facility means no more cutting off calls accidentally. Call waiting, call hold and call divert are also featured amongst the applications. For those who want to keep an eye on call times, a call timer allows you that facility. The handset will keep an automatic log of dialled, missed and received calls. It allows automatic redialling and has fixed dialling number support along with speed dialling. Mute and unmute is available as is the ability to add an image to a contact number, so not only will you know who is calling by their name but also the picture you have attached to their number will appear.

Nokia 2330 Classic – Messaging Services

Along with the usual SMS and MMS services, the Nokia Xpress audio messaging service is included. A quirky feature which allows the user to record messages and sounds which can then be sent to a compatible handset. The uses of this application are only limited by the imagination. This handset can store up to 250 messages and allows multiple SMS deletion when required. MMS comes in version 1.3 and can automatically resize images for MMS sending. An ability to list recently used numbers in message editor and speed dialling for SMS makes for an ever more user friendly messaging service.

Nokia 2330 Classic – Gaming & Applications

The Nokia 2330 Classic comes with preloaded games including Galaxy Ball game and a Snake II game. More games, to suit the needs of the user, can be downloaded for those who like to use their mobile handset for entertainment purposes as well as a conventional phone.

All the kinds of applications we have come to expect are included in the Nokia 2330 Classic. A personal organiser with event reminder, a phonebook which holds up to one thousand contacts and a clock which can be set to show a digital or analogue face to name but a few. An alarm clock and a stopwatch along with a calculator and a countdown timer are also included.
