The PE5120 fits into BenQ's Home Entertainment Series
and features a white chassis with silver trim. The single-chip DLP model
runs at a native 16:9 aspect ratio and has a resolution of 854 x 480
pixels, making it ideal for watching movies. The small, white unit can
also scale 1080i content to fit, although the image isn't as clear as
the output from a high-resolution machine. The PE5120 is portable at
2.9kg.

component and
composite
interfaces. BenQ
appreciates that
this model is
designed purely for
home theatre and has
opted to forego a
speaker,
anticipating the
user will instead
rely on a home
entertainment setup.
The PE5120 features
a large silver and
white remote which
allows quick access
to just about every
projector function,
including source and
aspect ratio
selection; image
properties like
brightness,
contrast, colour and
tint; and keystone
adjustment. Vertical
keystone is
provided, but you
can't offset the
image. This is
forgivable in a home
theatre environment
where the projector
will either sit on a
coffee table or be
permanently mounted
to the ceiling, and
there are three
telescopic feet on
the base to provide
for fine adjustment.

SCREEN
Suitable for domestic and commercial use, the
Symphony fixed projection screen by Elegance Screens is an easy to
assemble, professional screen covered in the finest deep black velour
finish. The Symphony consists of dual layered material, which does not
allow light to penetrate through the fabric.
This results in improved brightness levels, as well as reflecting the
projector’s true contrast ratio. Constructed out of Aircraft grade
aluminium and tensioners, the Symphony does not allow for any folds,
creases, or v waves due its unique engineered design and its remarkable
ability to maintain tension year after year, day after day.
The Symphony screen provides an ideal surface for virtually any
projector including DLP, LCD, & CRT projectors. Sharpness, definition,
brightness and contrast are all vastly enhanced through the platinum
screen material.
The Symphony is also compatible with all 720p and 1080p projectors
accommodating the fine dot pitch resolution produced by these projectors
without any blurring affect. By utilising the full resolution of the
projector, the Symphony allows for a sharper, more vibrant image that is
also easier on the eyes than conventional screens. The result is an

Higher contrast ratios with DLP®
means deeper blacks and brilliant whites
DLP® projectors are famous for producing incredibly high native contrast ratios. This means that the black on the screen is extremely black and the white is bright, brilliant white. Most DLP® projectors feature contrast ratios of 2,000:1 or higher whereas projectors using other technologies are typically half of that level or even worse. Projectors with higher contrast ratios also project better in rooms that have ambient light from windows or lighting. The deep blacks and crisp whites produced by DLP® projectors ensure that your presentations or lessons will be easily read, even if you are projecting in a room that has some ambient light.
