Presented for sale a Vintage BERNEX Art Deco Fob watch in a chrome steel case

 

General Description

This is a very nice quality BERNEX Art Deco gentleman’s fob watch dated circa 1940's made for Nwcastle upon Tyne Jewellers LISTERS 

Case

The Art Deco style case is of chrome steel, measuring 47.5mm diameter (excluding top winding button) and is signed STAYBRITE, and numbered 3515. The case front and back are snap on and is in good overall condition with little sign of wear. The case contains a watch paper from a local watchmaker

(H L Carris of Hexham - Est 1818) which gives the watches service history from 1957 to 1991.

 

Movement

The high quality Cal 459, 15 jewel hand-wound movement, is marked BERNEX,  it is in excellent physical condition, runs well and keeps good time (within a minute a day or better). The watch has been recently serviced.

 

Dial

The white dial, is in excellent condition, with LISTERS, NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE emblems. The hands are blued steel and there is a sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The batton markers are in the form of raised arabic numerals.
