Betty Mbitjana, forth child of the late minnie pwerle,born utopia 21/08/1957 and is a Anmatyerry speaker.

Betty is a shy quiet spocken lady,her style of painting was passed souly down to her by her mother minnie (Awelye - Atnwengerrp ) womans body paint. painting runs deep in betty's family as her sister is barbara weir, and is first cusins to the famous petyarry family, kathleen, gloria,jeannie and violet petyarry.Betty applies the paint in nice even clean strokes with very little mixing of colour, the iconography employed in the designs are carfully placed on the canvas resulting in richley colourful textured paintings.
