I DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THIS PIECE ALTHOUGH I DO KNOW THAT IT IS QUITE OLD IT HAS MARKIINGS UNDERNEATH , WHICH STATE................. "AYL" EP ON STEEL.. MADE IN ENGLAND"................... I ALWAYS REMEMBER IT BEING IN MY GRANDMOTHERS BUFFET..........

 IT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL IT STANDS ON 3 LEGS......IT HAS A LITTLE LIP AT THE FRONT TO LIFT THE LID AND IT TURNS RIGHT AROUND.................THE FLORAL DESIGN ON THE DISH MAKES IT LOOK SO LOVELY............  DUE TO AGE IT HAS SINCE STARTED TO TARNISH  .............. IT HAS BEEN USED AS A BUTTER DISH IN THE PAST.......... IT HAS BEEN IN A DISPLAY CUPBOARD FOR QUITE SOMETIME....................A BEAUTIFUL BUTTER DISH FOR ITS AGE!!!!!!
