BILLY, BLUEY AND TREAKLE
by Rowley O'Brien
A teenage city (Brisbane) boy answers the call of his rural heritage and passes up tertiary academia for a life with his grand parents on their struggling daity farm at Maleny in south east Queensland.
A unique pony and dog both with questionable bloodlines come into his life and the trio embark on an adventure that takes them from beginners in the Australian equine sport of campdrafting to the pinnacle of "drafting", the Warwick Gold Cup Championship. This transition over a five year time span (the story is set in the current era) is one of adventure, adversity, sadness and humour which they taken in their stride, sometimes in unusual ways.
This lovely little book has lived its life in a smoke-free and pet-free home, and is in immaculate condition It would make a terrific gift for anyone with more than a passing interest in horses.
