BIOSECT NEEM EXTRACT 500mL Hydroponic/Nursery

BioSect combines the beneficial insecticidal properties of several botanical oils, including Neem. It can be used as a foliar spray (Dosage 5mls per litre) where it will provide a physical barrier to leaf sucking insect pests and provide anti fungal properties, or it can be incorporated into the medium to deter insect pests that attack plants below the surface (Dosage rate 2mls per 10 litres).

Neem oil contains more than 25 active compounds that combat insects. Neem works on contact but also has a systemic action, being absorbed into the plant to be ingested by feeding insects. Many beneficial insects are unharmed because they do not feed from the plant. Neem oil is also considered an effective preventative for many leaf diseases like helmo, mildews, rust, anthracnose, leaf spot, botrytis, scab and alternaria.

As an insect deterrent, Neem is the source of azadirachtin, the active ingredient in at least seven common botanical insecticides. Oil from Neem seeds are believed to be active against over 400 insect pests particularly chewing and sucking insects such as caterpillars and beetle larvae. It's mode of action is to deter pests from feeding and/or reproducing by inhibiting the secretion of hormones into the blood.
