The Heavy duty, Powder coated, cast aluminium case makes the compass impact resistant, extremely durable, yet extremely light. The high quality compass needle is induction dampened, meaning it is less affected by external magnetic fields that may compromise accuracy. The Liquid filled dial provides "wobble" resistance and reduces unnecessary "turning time" - Highly important when holding it in your hand whilst moving around. Dual scale dial (with both a 0-6400 mils scale, at 20 mil resolution, and a 0-360 degree scale, at 5 degree resolution) provides an amazing accuracy of +/- 0002 mils. The magnifying lens improves readability of the highly accurate dial. The Graduated map ruler aids map calculations. The three point "gun sight" produces extremely reliable results when you are surveying. This literally allows you to calculate you exact position on a map by reference to one landmark, such as a hill top or a river bend, much like GPS. Never be lost again!
