COLLECTORS & ENTHUSIASTS – DO NOT MISS THIS! Offered to ebay members without reserve is this outstanding BMW 750iL V12 luxury saloon. Launched internationally in 1986, BMW’s E32 is the second generation of vehicles to wear the prestigious 7-Series badge and hosts a veritable bevy of luxury accoutrements befitting a vehicle with an original $220,000 asking price – enough at the time to purchase a substantial family home and TWO Ford Fairlanes! The example on offer, a range-topping 750iL, boasts BMW’s creamy 300BHP M70 V12 power plant which launches the car to 100km/h from a standing start in a little over 7 seconds and can keep on going to its (ungoverned) top speed of 300km/h! Delivered new to Finished in gleaming Diamond Blue with Blue/Grey soft leather trim, this 750iL has now covered approx 236,000k’s and features extended leather trimming (console, door trims, arm rests), electric rear seats, a rear privacy blind, electric front seats with drivers position memory, polished timber veneers, a sunroof, a factory premium sound system (now also hosting an Alpine CD stacker), central door locking, dual zone climate control air conditioning (very cold), adjustable suspension, power steering, windows and mirrors, and much more. Worth noting also is that unlike many, this 7-Series retains is original alloy wheels and has a full compliment of factory original tools. The vehicle is to be supplied with one original key and a set of BMW floor mats. Given the rather subjective nature of older vehicle assessment, your personal inspection is advised. In this way, you may form your own opinions of the car and can judge whether or not it will live up to your expectations. As a guide, my opinions of the car and its condition are as follows BODY & PAINT: The BMW presents beautifully, though naturally its 21 years in service prevents absolute perfection. That said, the car is striking and is a particularly impressive example boasting nice paintwork and a very straight body. Imperfections remain extremely limited for its age and there is no apparent evidence of previous accident damage or corrosion. All external trims remain in good order and, as the photos demonstrate, the 750iL is a very handsome car, the likes of which is not often seen on the market. TRIM & INTERIOR: Is in superb condition with very little to give away its age. All leatherwork remains beautifully supple with no deformed stitching, pinching or heavy scuffing, the carpets are in excellent order (original floor mats provided), the door trims are excellent and the dash top shows no UV fatigue. Points to note would seem limited to a slightly sagged headlining at the rear and some minor lines in some of the veneers. Again, as the photos demonstrate, the cabin of this 7-Series is particularly impressive and is a lovely place to spend time. MECHANICALS: The BMW is a superb performer and, given its road manners, appears to have been a particularly well maintained car. It starts very easily and fires strongly on all 12 cylinders. It does not blow any smoke, it does not make any obscure noises and it always maintains a consistent operating temperature. Naturally the V12 is a strong, powerful engine and given its massive torque, it does not at all feel ‘brutish’, rather it is particularly smooth and refined and runs very quietly. The suspension offers a firm but refined ride and the drivetrain shows no anomalies – the gearbox performs without fault and there are no noises in the diff/final drive unit. All electrics seem to be working correctly including the air conditioning (VERY cold), power windows, sunroof and central locking and I have been unable to locate any ‘gremlins’. The car does not appear to be using or loosing any fluids and has lovely steering and brakes. On balance, this is a unique opportunity for the astute enthusiast or collector to obtain a well preserved example of one of BMW’s finest flagship saloons -though not new, this is a lovely car. Naturally an expectation of zero investment in such a vehicle would be foolhardy however given its excellent presentation and strong mechanicals, I see no reason why the car could not be used with frequency – it was in daily service with its previous owner until traded. As mentioned previously, I advise and welcome any interested party to come and take the car for a test drive themselves or to send a friend, relative or mechanic in to inspect it on your behalf – being interstate is certainly no excuse! As I say in every one of my listings: common sense should tell you that my personal opinions reflected in the above listing and 12 digital photographs are no substitute for your own detailed inspection and test drive. Your bid is to BUY – no exceptions! I have no idea what would be required of this vehicle to pass a RWC – I am not a mechanic so I can not speak to this subject with any authority. BE UNDER NO ILLUSION IN YOUR DECISION TO BID – HAVE IT INSPECTED! All personal and/or mechanical inspections are invited and most welcome prior to auctions close.
