Just a note: The 8100 does not come with 2 Megapixel camera, it is 1.3 megapixels, despite what some sellers are saying.

I am including some extra information about the Blackberry Pearl, due to a few customers not knowing what it means to get the Blackberry service. It should be obvious to most, but here it is anyways for people who aren't familiar.

There are 2 main uses for a Blackberry:

1. Push Email and Internet! That is the main use ! IF you want to use Email/Internet it means signing up with your service provider eg. Telstra, Vodafone, Optus for a Blackberry account in addition to your voice plan, if you don't do this, email will not work. It's not just a matter of putting your existing SIM card in the phone, you must activate and pay for an additional Blackberry service to get the full features.

2. You like the phone and want to only use it as a phone! That is fine, you don't have to activate and pay for a Blackberry account with your service provider, but only Phone + SMS will work, NOT Push Email, Internet, MMS, etc.

Finally, the Blackberry devices currently on the market today are NOT 3G devices, so if you have a  Telstra NextG SIM (3G) you cannot use it for a Blackberry service - email/internet, but you can use it in phone + SMS only mode. For 3 users, please confirm with your provider about using their SIM with this phone- I cannot gurantee it to work.

 And, If you want to use Blackberry Email/Internet, your SIM must be a postpaid SIM, not prepaid, BUT prepaid is fine for phone only usage.
