Fuelled by alkaline batteries, the 55s can also operate longer than most.

Channel options are one of the major features of the 55s, featuring dual- and tri-watch to monitor critical channels, programmable channels, and even weather channels with NOAA weather alerts. The 55s also features selectable power levels for transmitting, and even comes with a belt clip and lanyard so you don't lose track of it.
