Time was when maritime lore dictated female passengers would only spell disaster, with the only quantifiable result being a lot of lonely sailors. Oh how times have changed; filling the gap we are now blessed with digital marine radios - specifically the affordable Eclipse Marine Radio with VHF and DSC support from Standard Horizon.

An update of the aging GX1000s, the GX1100S supports Digital Selective Calling, allowing you to make DSC calls with other similarly-equipped vessels and shore stations, as well as make distress calls or position requesting / reporting with date, time and position in Latitude / Longitude coordinates with attached NMEA-capable GPS Chart Plotter. All information is clearly visible on the oversized LCD display.

The Eclipse supports a number of other vital marine features including; Clear Voice Noise Reduction to reduce background noise in transmitting, customizable channel names as well as a plethora of scanning features like Programmable Scan, Priority Scan and Dual Watch.
