You’re in control. With the intention of making consistently great coffee we designed from the ground-up a high performance 100% stainless steel boiler with intelligent thermal control.
Most machines can only approximate the water temperature with sensors located outside the boiler. This creates a lag in sensing water temperature during extraction producing bad ‘pour’ and inconsistent crema. To avoid this we immersed an electronic control thermistor thereby constantly sensing water temperature during standby, extraction and steaming. The result is a flat temperature curve for precision coffee extraction delivering continuous water at 92°c. The heating element is specially engineered and positioned producing fast 60 second heat up from cold and even heat distribution providing instantaneous extraction and fast delivery of commercial strength steam pressure.
The filter eject system (patent pending) eliminates nail breaking in removing, exchanging and cleaning the filters. This new system allows a firm fit whilst offering a button to easily push the filter from the handle. The stainless and polymer assembly was designed to fit inside a standard size portafilter handle with the eject button integrated to the form.
The unique automatic water feed finger allows the 2 litre front load water tank to be replaced without the need for fiddly silicon pipes which plague other machines.
Style that enhances, not screams. The small appliance is the last decision in how the kitchen looks. Some try to stand out, missing the consumers call for order and cleanliness. ikon® is made from simple, clean geometric shapes and finishes which blend with the modern kitchen they live in. Corners are specially seam welded to achieve the crisp edge form. The dark grey casting was designed to minimise visual mass, highlighting the thin stainless control panel whilst removing the complex forms of the steam valve and boiler.
So strong you can stand on it. A stainless steel chassis construction with cast aluminium base was developed for maximum strength and minimum surface change, whilst being economical on material. For lifetime servicing the top cover is removable facilitating ergonomic access to all components from the top. The illuminated button assembly was designed to withstand high temperatures and fluctuation inside the unit.
