Bob Anders, formerly of the 1st AIF, is given the job of pulling together a station property in Queensland.  Yakaparni looks sound enough on the surface - but there are hidden troubles.  A highly eccentric and explosive owner is one headache: his pert, spoilt but adventurous daughter is another.  Bob's trials also include drought, fire, mad scrub cattle - and the cheerful ratbaggery of his station hands.

How he copes with these, plus problems of the heart, injects thrills and laughter into a story that is mainly serious, often humorous, and always, in every line, an entertainment.

This 222 page hardcover has some creases, edgewear, fading, splits and small pieces missing from dustjacket (please see photograph) and there are two ring marks on back cover.   Internally there is a very tiny brown mark to side page edges (does not impact on page face), but it is otherwise in a good, tight, clean condition.
