Jake Cantrell is sauve, charming and blessed with film star looks. A brilliant and imaginative electrical engineer, Jake, however, is sadddened by the failure of his marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Amy. Maggie Sorell is bright, poised and elegant. An interior designer, she, too has suffered a broken marriage, and is painfully out of touch with her two grown children. Kent, Connecticut is picturesque, it beckons to both Jake and Maggie. There they become involved with a local amateur dramatics group, and are introduced. They begin to meet, initially on business, then socially.
