This is a scarce copy of "Batman from the 30's to the 70's", a collection of reprints of significant Batman stories published by Crown in 1971. It is a huge, 388-page hardcover, in generally great condition, with dustjacket featuring art by Carmine Infantino & Murphy Anderson.
Stories in this volume include the first appearances of Batman, Robin, Alfred, the Joker, the Riddler, Batwoman, Bat-Girl, Ace the Bat-Hound, Batgirl Barbara Gordon and Man-Bat, plus the origin of the Bat-cave, the First Voyage of the Batmarine, the first appearance of the Red Hood (aka the Joker), the return of Two-Face and many more. Creators whose work is presented in the book include Bob Kane, Dick Sprang, Carmine Infantino, Denny O'Neil, Frank Robbins, Neal Adams, Dick Giordano, Irv Novick, Charles Paris, Curt Swan and more. The stories are generally reprinted in black-and-white, but there are several colour sections, including the first Batman story and several cover gallery pages. Also included is an introduction by E Nelson Bridwell, and a Bat-bibliography from the 30's thru' to 1971.
