In fact here in Perth Western Australia, we are in the process of setting up a model Permaculture farm for sustainable living with all the in's and out's of "Alternative Energy", for everyone to come and see how things work and a place for me to experiment with different energy products as they come available.
Now this Battery Charger is a goodie... 6 or 12 volts selection with switch on the front..
Standard Australian 3 pin plug..
Suit, Car, motor bike or any lead acid or deep cycle battery. Suit 15Ahr to 80Ahr battery...
* The charger is in a portable tough ABC plastic case, able to be cleaned with petrol or other workshop cleaners.
* This charger is rated at 6 Amps which is enough to charge your battery at a steady pace. The longer it takes to charge your battery, The longer it will last. Fast isn't always best..
* Long 1.7 meter cable with decent battery clips.
* Front panel shows charge rate with 6 LED's indicating,
Min, 0% charge, 50%charge, 75%charge, 100%charge and maximum.
* The charger is automatic and will stop feeding the battery when fully charged.

How long will it take for a certain current rating charger to fully recharge a given size battery?
This can be calculated approximately as follows. The recharge time in hours equals the battery capacity in Ah, multiplied by the Depth of Discharge in %, multiplied by 0.8, multiplied by 1.5, divided by 100 times the charger current rating in Amps, plus one hour. For example, a 55Ah battery, discharged to 80%, on a 6-Amp charger, would take about 9.8 hours. A 110 Ah battery, discharged to 50%, on a 10 Amp charger, would take about7.6 Hours. The battery reaches 80% recharge relatively quickly, the last 20% of the charge is done in constant voltage mode where the current is dropping exponentially, so it is charging more slowly, this is the reason for the 1.5 factor and the plus one hour constant.
