Item specifics
Product Type: PianosColour: Brown
Condition: UsedBrand: Spaethe
You are looking at a beautiful baby grand piano made by Wilhelm Spaethe, in Gera, Germany.  The company manufactured quality pianos from 1859 to the early 1920's and this piano is made in the unique "symmetrigrand" style. The Serial Number is: 30341.   It has clearly been sturdily built and has a very nice tone and touch.  We have enjoyed this little gem for the last 10 years.

.

Condition:

The condition of the piano remains good.  The keys are all intact with no chips and no significant wear.  Our piano tuner has no trouble keeping it in tune.

The cabinet is a rich hardwood (?walnut or mahogany) and has some wear and light scratches in places, but overall has a nice appearance.

Repair History:

The piano has been tuned at regular intervals.  It continues to play well, though not at concert pitch due to the age of the strings.

The Action was recently removed and reconditioned by an expert piano repairman.

Dimensions: 1.5 metres wide, 1.43 metres long, 1.0 metres tall while on glass floor protectors

Comes with piano stool / storage cabinet seen in the photos and 3 glass floor protectors

Buyer will have to arrange removal by qualified piano mover.  We can highly recommend the moving company that has moved this piano a few times and knows it well.

We would recommend the piano be re-tuned once it is placed in the buyer's home.

If you would like to view and play this instrument, please contact us to arrange a time.

Good Luck in Your Bidding!

A: There are no cracks that I can see in the sound board and the repairman (who did the action reconditioning last year) did not mention any cracks either. Thanks!

Q: Hi, I was just wondering about pickup if we decide to bid / if we win. We don't live nearby but could arrange for someone to collect the piano - would this be ok? Probably a removalist or something!
A: Yes, great question! We will need the winner to have the piano collected within 10 days, or we will offer it to the next highest bidder. I can't recommend strongly enough that it be moved by a qualified piano mover --... Continue reading
