This is a lovely trinket box,made from a large polished clam/mussel shell decorated with velvet,pearls and othersmaller shells.Perfect for any'"shabby" interior.It would date from around 1930,the velvet band around the outside of the box has faded to a subtle olive,but inside you can still see the original deep,dark green colour.The interior of the box is lined with apricot coloured velvet on the bottom of the box,while the top of the box is lined with ivory coloured silk-both are a little grubby from age and use-but nothing drastic and no holes or tears.The box sit's on 3 small "feet"-the originals of which have been replaced with little modern silver screw's unfortunately,please refer to my photo's.The box still "sit's" well but really only on 1 foot at the front-hence the lean shown in my photo,it is still steady though.This piece measures 16cm in length(6 &1/4 inches) and stands 7cm high(2 &3/4).It is 10cm in width(4 inches).Postage within Australia would be $6.00.Postage to the US & Canada would be $16.00 with postage to the UK & Europe $19.00.Please email me if you have any other questions.Thanks!!!
