Presented here for consideration is an impresive Beswick Palm Tree Vase in the very sought after cobalt blue gloss colour-way. It is shape 1072 which was designed by Albert Hallam in 1946 and issued in 1947 and it had been withdrawn by 1963.

It has the green stamped under glaze maker’s mark that was in use at this period. Impressed into the base is “BESWICK – ENGLAND” and the shape number “1072”.

Dimensions

This magical vase strides in at 16 cm (6.25”) and it has a diameter at its broadest of 10 cm (4”).

Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition; The only flaw I can find is a scratch on the rare of the vase – it really is nothing – I only really mention for complete accuracy as it can only be seen on very close inspection - it is just visible in the photo above.

I just love Beswick’s Palm Tree series. From the coral reef that forms the base to the towering palm tree, it is so Tropical Island - I can almost hear the wind in the fronds, smell the salt and taste the pineapples.
