COLD PLASTIC DEFORMATION

Beta were the first European manufacturers to
rely on state-of-the-art technology regarding the cold
form process, by steel extrusion, and specially designed
profiles for both hexagon and bi-hex sockets (up to 32 mm).
All of this translates in remarkable quality which stands out
mainly during stress tests; this could not be acheived should
the tools undergo traditional hot forming processes which many
tool manufactures still rely on.

72 TEETH REVERSIBLE RATCHETS

Beta's reversible ratchets 1/2" square drives compared to 

traditional models offer numerous advantages:

-Smaller size of the heads.
-Very small operating arc (5degree) due to the 72 teeth of the gear,
 17 of which mesh simultaneously 
-No danger of slipping or releasing even under sudden tightening.
-Free handle return even when a hand is placed on the ratchet head
 (this pressure will not cause reverse action).
-Easy changeover with one hand only.
In addition, Beta's ratchets are enhanced by remarkable mechanical
features both in terms of static and dynamic load test.

STATIC LOAD TEST
These stress tests are carried out by gradually applying torque effort
from zero up to the testing value. Beta's ratchets go far beyond the
torque figures set by the ISO 3315 standards, as specified below.

Once the figures go beyond the "Beta torque tests" column the square drive
of the ratchet will strain without affecting the mechanism.

DYNAMIC LOAD TEST
These stress tests are carried out by repeatedly applying torque effort from
zero up to the testing value.
The torques shown may not be carried out manually without relying on
extension bars.
The 300 Nm torque of the 1/2"drive ratchet corresponds to 1500 Nm
torque in the handle (twice as much as that a user could have).
In addition, for the dynamic test the speed of application of the load is
remarkably higher than that which could normally be performed in practical
use.
Like for the static load test the square drive will strain after thousands of
applications while the mechanism will not be damaged.
