Biante 1:18 Johnson Ford XE Falcon 1984 ATCC winner MIB

This auction is for a MIB Biante 1:18 scale Dick Johnson Ford XE Falcon 1984 Australian Touring Car champion.  The Aussie larrikin Dicky Johnson was again forced to go it alone with very little help from the Ford factory in 1984. Through sheer skill and determination he triumphed against the opposition, including the mighty Marlboro Holden Dealer Team, to become the 1984 Australian Touring Car Champion…a feat he would achieve 5 times before he retired. Like the other champions of his time (Brock, Moffat, Goss, and so many more), Dick Johnson possessed intelligence, great skill and a never say die attitude that captured the attention of a Nation and made him one of our most beloved icons…who can forget the in-car interviews with the cheeky bugger as he monstered the top of the mountain or flew down con-rod straight at nearly 300 KMH, what a legend. The car up for auction represents the last of the monster Falcons from the Group-C era. Flared guards, huge wheels, brick-like shape and hardly an aerodynamic improvement in sight…who needs aero when you have 5.8 litres of Ford V8 muscle under the bonnet!!

This model is in mint condition and has never been removed from its box and the clear plastic strips are firmly in place on the bonnet and boot. The window box itself is in as-new condition with no damage to the pristine white cardboard and just a couple of extremely minor blemishes to the front edge of the clear plastic window (please refer to the photos). The hand signed COA is also in mint condition and is numbered 3385/3858. This is a magnificent looking car driven to victory by a true legend of Australian motor sport.

NOTE: The car will be packed very carefully inside a strong Australia Post packing box to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
