Black and Decker bought Vector out in 2006.  This Vector (VEC135) has been used but very little.  It looks new.  There is an instruction booklet.  When  new this item sold for over $100.00.  This item features:

  • AM/FM weather band radio with automatic hazard alert
  • Hand crank to recharge batteries
  • Built-in batteries included for auxiliary back-up power
  • Powerful lantern which can tilt up and down
  • Long-lasting LED area light
  • Built-in earphone or audio outlet
  • 120 volt AC adapter (if it was suppose to have a 12 volt DC for car it is NOT AVAILABLE)
  • Battery, 12 volt DC or 120 Volt AC powered
  • Built-in 5.5" black and white TV (VHF & UHF)  Analog (*see below)
  • AV out receptacle for external TV connection
  • Brightness/contrast/vertical hold TV controls
  • An adjustable sholuder strap

Note this only pertains to the TV.  Radio and Emergency Lights are not effected by (Analog).  You do not have to have the tv working for other parts to work.

How will my Vector emergency weather TV be affected by the Analog to Digital switch over on June 12, 2009?

This change will only affect the TV channels. The channels will broadcast on the same frequencies, but the format will change from analog to digital signal.

The VEC135, VEC136, & WC300DSV will need an adapter (Standard “F” Jack to 1/8" Plug Adapter) for the TV external antenna jack to coaxial cable. An after market adapter is available from Radio Shack (or www.radioshack.com), part number 278-257.
Only the VEC130 does not have a plug in for an external antenna adapter. It will not be able to be used with a converter.

This change does not affect Radio channels (including Weather Alert).

Also, please note that at the time of a power outage you will need a power source for your converter box in order to be able to use it with your Vector emergency weather TV. Winegard (www.winegarddirect.com) (1-866-454-7566) has a 9 Volt battery pack to power their (RCDT09/RCDT09A) Analog to Digital converters.

The battery pack would be used when there is no electricity available, to power the converter.

Note: These products have not been tested by Black & Decker. Therefore there is no guarantee of compatibility. Customer must consult with the manufacturer, Winegard, Inc.
