You've probably heard it countless times, prices in print catalogues should only be considered as a guide

But what does this mean?

In the year it takes pricing to be determined for print guides, with the bullish market, there's just no way they can stay accurate - this, in guides that are supposed to last for an additional year!

How are we supposed to make informed investment decisions when our data is up to 2 years old?

We can't, and every investor knows that accurate information is the foundation of a solid portfolio.

How can we solve this 50 year old problem?

Recent technological advances have enabled us to offer an ever updating pricing system based on dealer sales and auction realisations to afford the most up to date valuations available in the industry!

THE FUTURE

of Numismatic Valuations

We maintain three on-line valuation references.

The Blue Sheet: (http://www.bluesheet.com.au/) The most up to date valuations for certified coins

The Green Sheet: (http://www.greensheet.com.au/) The most up to date price guide for raw coins

Access to the latest valuations in the industry will enable you to spot bargains, to know exactly how much a coin can be acquired for so you know exactly how much (or how little) you should be spending.

The Red Sheet: (http://www.redsheet.com.au/) The most up to date wholesale prices for certified coins

Do you sell coins? The Red Sheet will inform you how much you should be getting - never sell a coin too cheap again! (not available on this subscription - see below)

Whenever a certified Australian coin publicly sells worldwide, our valuations are updated. This tackles some of the key problems in print catalogues, and why they're only considered to be guides:

Timing

By utilising live updates, this price reference will never go out of date.

Politics

Valuations are decided by auction results, sales and collector want lists, rather than direct dealer input.

Prices will always be what coins do sell for, rather than what dealers want coins to sell for.

Grading

By applying valuations to coins certified by respected grading services, inconsistency for the most part is eliminated.

What does it cover?

All price references cover pre-decimal coins including Holey Dollars and Dumps, Adelaide Assay tokens, Sovereigns and Half Sovereigns and Copper and Silver coinage.

BLUE SHEET

The Blue Sheet consists of lists and pages, the lists allow you to compare coins from the same series much in the same way traditional print catalogues organised their data. There are lists of every Australia coin type from 1813 to 1965 including Adelaide Assay pieces and Australian minted gold sovereigns and half sovereigns.

The pages provide detailed information on the specific coin including discussion about varieties with photos. The page also provides valuations for the coin, photos for grading, market history which includes past and current dealer offers, a population chart of known examples and a message board to discuss the coin. There are pages for every single catalogued coin including numerous varieties!

On the right you can explore the Blue Sheet list for the George VI florins, and on the right below you explore the Blue Sheet page for the 1946 florin.

GREEN SHEET

The Green Sheet, much like the Blue Sheet consists of lists and pages, however the important difference is that the Green Sheet provides valuations to the old adjectival standard, designed for collectors who have not yet adopted the numerical standard.

The lists allow you to compare coins from the same series much in the same way traditional print catalogues organised their data. There are lists of every Australia coin type from 1813 to 1965 including Adelaide Assay pieces and Australian minted gold sovereigns and half sovereigns.

RED SHEET

The Red Sheet, much like the Blue Sheet consists of lists and pages, however the important difference is that the Red Sheet provides wholesale valuations, pricing at the level that dealers trade amongst each other.

WANT LIST

The want list enables you make offers to acquire a coin when you feel a coin is unobtainable at the listed price. In conjunction with sales and dealer offers, this helps us keep values of scarcer coins up to date.

SALE/PURCHASE LIST

The sale/purchase list enables you to keep track of sales and purchases and let us know of your sales and purchases when you feel the current valuation has fallen out of date. In conjunction with sales and dealer offers, this helps us keep values of scarcer coins up to date.

DEALER LIST

The dealer list enables collectors plus subscribers (limit of 10 entries per month) or dealers to add their inventory to our lists which is visible whenever anyone explores the coin pages. An excellent marketing tool.

"it is certainly the most important acquisition in any numismatic investment. Finally some accurate pricing to the Sheldon scale."

Ned, NSW writes:
"it's good to see someone has put a price on slabs, what good is third-party grading without third-party valuations!"
