In this book, Nerida Singleton describes in simple language and step-by-step instructions how to create wonderful heirlooms and very special gifts, transforming old, new, bought or found objects into stunning masterpieces. Her techniques may differ from the traditional, but the results are just as, if not more, exquisite.

She describes how cut outs from prints or art books, or any other desired paper, are cut, pasted, varnished with 30 coats, sanded and waxed to produce a beautiful and durable surface on any hard object - wooden boxes, chests, chairs, screens and other furniture, ceramics, glass and metal, and luggage, especially hat boxes, which are her hallmark.

Nerida suggests suitable and readily available pictures to be cut and suggests possible layouts and designs, making it possible for the beginner to get started with a minimum of frustration.

This is not only a beautiful and inspirational book, but the simplicity of its instructions make it supremely practical.
