Condition: NewBrand: bosch
Product Type: multi tool with extras

THE TOOL

The multi tool from Bosch.  Brand new, never opened **   Also called the "all-rounder tool" by Bosch.

This kit is a much better kit than the lower-standard tool-only kit.

This one has the de-grouter carborundum/diamond blade which by itself will set you back $100 extra if you buy the lower kit... as well as many other blades included, like the 200 degree metal/wood (another $50 to buy separately !!!!!).   Paying a few extra bucks at the start  for this better kit will save you a bundle in blades…

These are included... 200 degree carborundum/diamond blade, 200 degee metal/wood blade, wood blade, hard-wood blade, metal blade, very handy scraper blade (paint, clean-ups etc), a plastic sander body and sand-pads.

** My photos show an open kit, but the one you buy is factory sealed and will arrive at your house never opened.  (You have to cut a small white tie to get the lid open... look carefully for it… don’t force the lid !!!).  The tool in the photos was one I kept for myself.

The tool itself is very good for forward cutting where you can’t  get the blade behind the job.  Most tools require rear access ..( eg jigsaw, sabre/reciprocating) .  It cuts fast but in a very controlled forward way... there is no danger of the machine "going out of your control and over-cutting"   (angle grinder)   It cuts by moving the blade very fast from side to side and possibly there is a tiny rotary aspect to the motion as well.

USE EXAMPLES

Here's a good example of use...apart from the obvious tile de-grouting use.... Today I was removing a section of metal gutter as it was rusted.  Because the profile of the gutter follows very closely the line of the fascia through a right angle, it is impossible to cut it with an angle grinder blade (4inches round) without hacking into the fascia.... plus all the tiles get in the way of cutting with the angle grinder.     I didn't want to pull the gutter all away from the fascia so I could cut it from behind with a sabre or a compressor-driven hack-saw as it was already weak.  This where the multi-tool came in... it cut the metal gutter away just by pushing the small metal blade into it.  The rusty section could be excised easily with the gutter in situ.

I'm not saying its the best way to cut metal all the time, but it certainly has advantages in some situations.

Cutting a pipe flush to a wall is difficult with all other blades too as the best angle you can usually get is 5 or 10 degrees (angle grinder or sabre).  This gives a totally flat flush cut.

Cutting skirting from 90 degrees, cutting floorboards without having to do a drill hole... doing cuts where my fingers are near the work for stability etc (much safer than a whirling grinder blade)I'm sure it's gonna be a useful weapon in my armoury...

Anyway, there you go... I'm still finding uses myself

POSTAGE

There is a new product out by australia Post.  The 5kg giant size express "overnight ** " satchel.  this is perfect as not only will it fit a tool case, it allows 5kg AND it gets there is 2days.  (Normal satchels are up to 2WEEKS from WA despite what they say... and they wouldn’t fit this tool anyway, it would have to go Parcel-Post).  Sending it by parcel-post would end up costing $21 or so and it would take up to 2 weeks by road.  So this is a great product…  But wait… there’s more…

This product costs $18.50. I AM SUBSIDISING THIS SO YOU ONLY PAY $13.95.

Why am I doing this?   Well, it’s because I’m such a generous chap… I’m the only person on Ebay DE-flating postage (unlike the ones that cut the price and inflate the postage… do they think we’re stupid ??)     Anyway, if you want to join the “martin is such a generous chap” fan-club… membership is only $99   (c’mon… that’s a joke…)

Naturally I will wrap the case in a towel before putting it in the bag... this will protect it more...  a free towel !!!

** Note when you read the fineprint of the "overnight" bag it doesn't count for WA unless it is CBD to CBD. But 2 days is better than 2 WEEKS, eh?

SILLINESS

NO pre-emptive queue-jumpers with their pointless "BUY IT NOW"  OFFERS ... ("hey Buddy, I can do sixty cash 4 U rite now if you does the post free, eh?" as though this king's ransom they are offering for it, only has a time limit of a few minutes before their wonderful offer explodes from its own sheer magnanimity... I wish they would explode in the delete basket).   These are a waste of my time, although writing the withering rejections is mildly amusing (probably utterly wasted on the recipients).

Everybody bids… then it’s a level playing field…. that's fair.

PAYMENT

Normally I only accept Paypal,  but I will accept transfers on this one. All I ask is… don’t make me have to remind you eight times to reply/pay, which is normally the problem with transfer-people.

FINAL WORD ON WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT

Bosch has packed these cases so the blades tend to fall out of their slots as they are moved.  Since the package has already come from Germany (or wherever), there is little point in me opening it and putting them back in their slots before it heads across Australia to you..  Just be aware of this and when you open it, make sure none fall out and get lost under those piles of junk still not cleaned up in your shed/work-room.  Open it on a table and put all the blades back in their slots… only some move… about half are secure.

Martin

PLEASE NOTE, I WILL BE AWAY FROM THURS 5TH NOVEMEBR TILL MON 9TH NOVEMBER AND WILL BE UNABLE TO ACCESS A COMPUTER. THIS MAY IMPACT ON THIS SALE OR AFTER IT, SO PLEASE BE AWARE OF IT .

I WILL BE BACK !!!  THIS IS TO WARN YOU WHY NOTHING IS HAPPENING FOR YOU DURING THESE DATES.  THANKS.    MARTIN

ANOTHER GREAT USE FOR THIS TOOL…

Another use I would never have thought of initially… DOORS.  I was putting up a door today and I thought “ I wonder if it could help with the hinge rebate cut-out in the door-jamb?…”      DOES IT EVER,     It cuts the edges beautifully without the hard chisel/mallet whacking you normally have to do.  Then, having got the edges cut it easily cuts away the inside slivers…. Either by shallow scooping like the chisel or end-on rasping.  I ended up with a good rebate in half the time … and that was my first effort.

I’ve been chiselling doors for years, so I’m no novice with the chisel, but I can tell you this was heaps easier and better,.. I was very pleased with the result.  There was a lot less inaccuracies and a lot more control over the work too.

Also, during this job I had cause to do some shaping of wood, and some cutting out for hinge-pins and latches… how easy with this !!!
