The second coin is produced in black Titanium representing the continent of Oceania. The central image depicts two swimmers in front of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. In the foreground a kiwi, the national animal of New Zealand, appears on the left and a duck-billed platypus which is unique to Eastern Australia on the right. At the top of the design the five stars for the flag of Papua New Guinea appear next to a dove symbolising the union of the five continents.

The third coin will be produced in red Titanium representing the continent of the Americas. The central image depicts three hockey players skating around a totem pole in front of the Rocky Mountains. In the foreground a bald eagle, the national symbol of the U.S.A. appears on the left and a beaver, the national animal of Canada on the right. At the top of the design a maple leaf from the flag of Canada appears next to a dove, again symbolizing the union of the five continents.

The fourth coin will be produced in green Titanium representing the continent of Africa. The central image depicts two athletes running in front of Table Mountain, in the foreground a tribal mask appears on the left and a springbok, the national animal of South Africa on the right. At the top of the design the ‘Y’ shaped band from the flag of Republic of South Africa appears next to an image of a dove.

Finally, the fifth coin will be produced in blue Titanium representing the continent of Europe. The central image depicts four rowers in front of the O2 Stadium in Greenwich, London. In the foreground a British bull dog appears on the left and a lion, the national animal of the United Kingdom on the right. At the top of the design the Union Jack and 12 stars from the European flag appear next to a dove which symbolizes the union of the five continents.

Each coin displays a motif of a kotinos wreath in the surround of the design, which was used to crown victors of the Ancient Games.

The obverse of each coin bears a fine effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS FSNAD. The coins are also available in a Bi-Metal Silver and coloured Titanium version as well as a very limited edition of Bi-Metal Gold and coloured Titanium.

Titanium is normally a dull grey colour but by use of a special process Pobjoy Mint is able to alter the composition of the coins to achieve the various colours.

The precious metal versions of these coins have been struck four times to achieve the famous Pobjoy Proof finish.
