This Bundaberg eight year old rum began its life late last century in the local canefields of Bundaberg, QLD.

The cane was harvested and crushed with the resulting molasses refined, fermented and twice distilled.

Sealed away in fine oak vats to mature, the taste and aroma were routinely checked to ensure the untmost quality.

After eight long quiet years, the rum developed the rich smooth character required to be bottled, hand sealed and labelled as the exclusive 2008 release of Bundaberg Eight year old rum.

In 1907 a DISASTROUS FIRE ravaged the Bundaberg Distillery. Despite COURAGEOUS EFFORTS, local fire fighters were unable to prevent EXTENSIVE DAMAGE.

The origin of the fire remains a MYSTERY.

One hundred and one years later, BUNDABERG 101 has been released to commemorate this event.

This RICH, DARK RUM has been craftd to deliver an intense flavour, with just a HINT OF SMOKE reminiscent of the fire that burnt the Distillery to the ground.

Since 1888, we have been mastering the art of aging rum. These days, we age our rum in oak vats, which are still lovingly crafted and maintained by hand.

We keep a close eye on all our vats, and occasionally, we come across a maturing vat that promises to deliver something EXCEPTIONAL - rum with supreme character that takes time to develop.

These exceptional vats are RESERVED, and watched closely by our experts. They will be monitored and cared for until this premium rum has reached the peak of its character, when we release it EXCLUSIVELY as Bundaberg Reserve.

Demonstrating outstanding character, this old oak aged rum is RICH & DARK, finishing with a HINT OF OAK.
