C1830 TO 40 PORCELAIN CABINET PLATE A STUNNER

With around 180 years to its credit, this early porcelain plate would be English made but is unmarked. This is quite usual for the period, as many makers did not mark. To me, it has qualities of early Derby, and the pattern is almost the same as the marked Derby plate I have also listed. It is quite thick and heavy, but translucent nonetheless. It is hand painted with flowers in a rich green and gold. There is some wear to the gold, commensurate with age, but it is still a lovely old piece of history. It has no chips or cracks, clean crazing is evident on close examination. It measures 23 cms across.
