Dypsis florencei (syn. Dypsis paludosa),  known as the Candy Cane Palm, is a very attractive small palm from Madagascar.

A very attractive small to medium sized clustering palm to 3 metres tall with a colourful crown shaft. The crownshaft is a deep purplish red at the base and fades to a pale green towards the top. It has multiple thin stems.

Grows with large, entire or sparsely pinnate, deeply notched leaves.

Prefers a warm, sheltered and moist, but well drained position.

For sale is a packet of 5 fresh seeds.
