In the early years of the seventeenth century certain groups in England were anxious to expolit the discoveries of her seamen in the New World. But those backing these ventures badly needed information of what lay inland of those strange new shores. This enthralling story, based on historical documents, tells how, in 1605, Sir Fernando Gorges sent Captain Waymouth on a secret mission to kidnap 5 American Indians in 1605 , take them to England , teach them English and drain them dry of information about their native land. An exciting read for old and young alike.

Condition: Very Good. Jacket unclipped, covered in contact. Closed tear and chip to top edge front as in photo. Covers and binding fine. Pages clean and white.
