This is Part 4 (Winter) of a series of 4 CDs for learning to speak Kyoto Dialect. This is the beautiful, soft, musical version of Japanese spoken by the Maiko and Geisha of Gion. This CD teaches 110 vocabulary items through various natural conversations and examples. The settings are seasonal events and cultural topics and that is the reason there is one for each season. Although the narrator explains the situation in each dialogue in English, there is almost no English in the accompanying text so it is not for total beginners - some knowledge of Japanese is required and an ability to read basic Japanese very helpful. An excellent tool for anyone who wants to learn Kyoto's unique way of speaking.
