![]() Title: "Celtic Mandala with Knotted Frog Toes" ARTIST'S STATEMENT This is a delightful, whimsical and colourful frog composition where the frogs are presented as a Mandala. A circle, whose archetypal symbolism in the act of creation, becomes spiritual and sacred. In the mythology of many cultures frogs are linked to cleansing, healing and creative powers. Their metamorphosis from tadpole to frog is often used to symbolise the awakening of ones creativity and recognising one's own power of adaptation. Frogs are very sensitivity to environmental change and so are naturally symbols of a peaceful, harmonious coexistence and interdependence with nature. Teaching a connection with the earth and serve as a strong lesson about our own interdependence within a fragile eco-system. The toes of these frogs are woven together like Celtic knots. Knots are symbolic of linked connection to protective powers. The woven tangles are inspired by the idea of co-dependence in maintaining healthy eco-systems. The use of the colour wheel in this image represents human creativity and is shown in the 6 pointed star. The star shape represents the 6 days of creation. The colour choices of the Celtic knot corners allude to the elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water which symbolises the inter-reaction of all physical existence. The image is a reminder to you of your own personal strength and ability to change and grow with life experiences, and of the existence of your own creativity and power of adaptation to overcome difficulties. It is also an image that remind you of the fragility of the planet and the wonder and magic of its creation, a reminder to find and enjoy the beauty of what surrounds you. Folk wisdom tells that dreaming of a frog means good fortune, happiness and great friendships. May your dreams be filled with frogs...
