ITEM: CHARMING ALTER SHAPE 4 DRAWER BLACK LEATHER CHINESE JEWELLERY BOX w/Mirror
STYLE: Classical Chinese 1800's
CONDITION: NEW PRODUCT
This Brand NEW Black Leather Chinese Four Drawer Jewellery Box w/ Mirror is a reproduction of the classical style of Chinese jewellery boxes of the 1800's.
Historical point - Before Glass mirrors were invented, mirrors were made with clear polished brass.
This beautiful piece is made of wood and leather, using old traditional Chinese techniques, the leather is wrapped around the wood and bound tightly so that the skin is smooth and perfectly formed to the piece. Stylish brass fixtures and handles complete the exterior. Inside the box is lined with aged Chinese paper filled with characters, adding to the authenticity and feel of the product. A handy Mirror in the lid makes it perfect for cosmetics and jewellery.
This classical technique was developed 1200-1500 years ago in the Tang Dynasty Era, and reproduced by us today!
The lid , front and sides of the box are painted with beautiful and traditional Chinese paintings of golden Butterflies flying beyond flowers. In Chinese culture, these represent luck and happiness. Also, lacquer had put on to protect the paintings and the whole box.
It embraces the artistry and craftsmanship of the finest traditional Chinese art.

- The shape is typical Chinese Alter Table Shape with wings at two ends.
It had four drawers and a mirror attached inside the top part, which is perfect for keeping the jewellery and the cosmetics and to do makeup by watching yourself in the mirror.
Each side of the box has gold paintings including the back and the top and all hand painted.
Gold paintings of Butterflies & Flowers signify Luck and Happiness in Chinese Culture.
Inside the box is lined with decorative aged paper featuring Chinese characters, adding to the feel and authenticity of the product.
It is very practical piece and perfect for interior decoration purposes.
