Featuring the tracklist: 'Hard To Say I'm Sorry', 'Love Me Tomorrow', 'Hard Habit To Break', 'You're The Inspiration', 'Along Comes A Woman', 'You're Not Alone', 'Chasin' The Wind', '25 Or 6 To 4', 'Stay The Night' and 'Look Away'.
Covering the AOR years when Chicago left behind the extended and often excrutiatingly tedious (but always superbly executed) instrumental workouts that had frequented their early albums. The era contained herewith owes more to power ballads and radio friendly hooks but that's no bad thing. This is the Chicago I grew up with so I can accept the changes they underwent and admittedly the music is much more commercial and therefore easier on the ear. All the well known 80s hits are here in video form and as you would expect there is much reliance on studio based band performance videos. Remember, some of these tracks are pre-MTV. However, before you nod off in boredom along comes 'Stay The Night' which is an exercise in hilarity that all responsible should be thoroughly embarrassed. Peter Cetera, not a man you would ever attach a macho image to, appears as a rugged car mechanic and spends the duration of the video leaping from or being thrown from cars. It's so incredibly dated but the naff value of it makes it side splittingly funny. The highlight of the set. The rest of the videos are pretty worthy too. Along Comes A Woman is a similar vein to Stay The Night. |
