This knitting book by Jean Greenhowe is full of lovely dolls, gifts and decorations for Christmas.
The book is full of beautiful pictures .... and all instructions, of course - 40 pages in total.
8 Ply (DK/Light Worsted Weight) Yarn is used.

Little Donkey: 12cm (43/4in) high - 15cm (6in) long
Please note Mary and Jesus in the Crib are not included with the Donkey instructions in this book, but I have included a copy of the instructions for these two which I have from another of my own Jean Greenhowe Books ... I feel it is a shame for you not to have the set.

These jolly little characters can be made as soft toys, stocking fillers or decorations and their accessories - stocking, cracker and holly wreath, can also be knitted up to decorate the Christmas tree.

Poppets: Snowman, Scarecrow, Clown, Santa Claus - 12cm (43/4in)
 
Four Seasons Hats & Stand:  each hat brim is 10cm (4in) in diameter
These miniature creations can be displayed as ornaments on knitted hat stands,  They also make pretty pin cushions.

Hush-a-Bye Baby:  Doll   26cm (101/4in) Tall

Eliza the Peg Doll:  Make a treasured heirloom .... Eliza has fully jointed arms & legs measuring 34cm (131/2in) 
Many many years ago, a poor child's Christmas present would have been a plain peg wooden doll like the one in the picture above.
