I am proudly presenting for this Auction our 1971 Chrysler by Chrysler CH Hardtop (1 of 76 CH-8-P-23s).
Due to some storage concerns unfortunately, we will be letting go another vehicle from our Family collection. This CH Hardtop is a Two Owner vehicle (One Previous), was driven daily (and was babied) for nearly 16 years, then in long term storage for the next 16 years.
My brother has been using the vehicle as a Daily Driver for the last year or so, after completing some necessary repairs, which are usual for a car that has been stored. (New Radiator, New Water Pump, New Discs, New Calipers, New Battery, New Heater core, New Carbie etc etc etc). As a daily driver a day would not go by, when someone hasn't asked him "Is it for sale?" or someone leaving a note under a windscreen wiper, when it has been parked. This car gets a lot of admirers. We believe eBay is the fairest way to let this vehicle go, as everybody has a chance of owning it and the market will dictate the price.
This CH Hardtop is very very straight, rust is very minimal (can supply better pics - to those genuine), plenum chamber, rear quarters etc is near mint. Paint is faded in spots, which is typical with any Chrysler with Metallic Paint (no need to tell the Chrysler fanatics). Paint combo is Smokey Blue Metallic (one of the very best colors in my opinion) and features a Parchment Vinyl Roof (which needs redoing - due to age).
Engine is the Very Rare 265 Hemi - 3 Speed Auto Combo. This is great for Daily Driving or general cruising and won't empty your pockets like a 360s fuel bill (got one of those, I can't afford to run it), plus also this combo is a helluva lot rarer! Engine is a Factory Warranty block from Chrysler. Car drives really nice, could do with some "tinkering" (dyno tune etc) which we never got around to.
Interior is near immaculate, no rips or tears, headlining etc is really nice. Carpet is Original style. Dash has no cracks. Interior is all Original, just like the rest of the vehicle. This is one of the best original CH Hardtop interiors I have seen. CH Hardtops have the BEST Interior of any Australian built Chrysler!
Car has the rare Factory Air Conditioning (doesnt work), this was a very expensive option in its day.
Wheels are Factory Option Bathurst style ROH W35s, these match the Color combo perfectly, but if the next owner wishes, we are happy include a near perfect set of CORRECT CH Hubcaps (CH Hubcaps differ from CJ, CK, CL, CM etc)
All in all, if you are after a VERY RARE CH Hardtop, where there is nothing butchered or molested, nothing tampered or hidden, then this Vehicle is for you. This car is NOT some bogged up, mistreated lemon from the 1980s, which has had a swag of mistreating owners.
This Car is a Genuine Survivor car and even comes with books. (Even down to the tennis ball on tow-bar). These sorts of Genuine vehicles seldom come up for sale, let alone in an UNRESERVED AUCTION. We really really hate letting this vehicle go. We would much prefer for the next owner to leave this vehicle ALL ORIGINAL, this vehicle is far too good to modify or tamper with.
