CIRCUS TIME– Little Golden Book (RARE 1948)

This very old LGB is in good condition.

It has a few imperfections worth mentioning - some damage to lower 1/4 of brown paper spine and it has come away slightly - not noticeable. Thwre are a few brown stains on the lower corner edges of a few pages and along the right edge of page 5, but otherwise good.

There is an inscription from Father Christmas on the inside of tghe fly page dated 1949.

It isn't the best copy of this book I have sold but, nevertheless a nice one to add to an older vintage LGB collection with its wonderful black and white and colour illustrations by Tibor Gergely.

 I believe that Little Golden Books have charm and history. I look beyond their imperfections, especially in very old ones like this. I like to imagine the children who once owned them, where they were living, what they were wearing and the times they were living in - WWII had not long ended. LGBs were cause for great excitement on Mum’s return from doing the weekly shopping.

Most of the books I list are vintage and therefore may have minor flaws due to their age. I have tried my best to describe these, as I see them – hopefully the image also provides information that may be helpful.
